Program from July, 2016 - Yellow DOT Program

Representatives from the District Attorney office in Dothan provided information about the Yellow Dot Program in Houston County.  Beginning at 5:00 PM they took pictures of persons who wanted to participate in the program.  Once pictures were developed, they attached each picture inside a yellow dot folder, which contained a personal information form and yellow dot decal.  The personal information form should be completed to include contact information and medical history, including allergies, medications, and physician information.   Once completed, participants should place the yellow dot (included in the folder) in the lower left corner of the rear window of their auto on the driver’s side to alert first responders that vital information can be found in the glove compartment of the vehicle.  The picture ensures the medical information is for the victim.  This program was first implemented about 6 years ago and is an excellent way to improve the services provided by first responders.  Persons not at the meeting who are interested in participating in the program may contact the Henry/Houston County District Attorney’s Office at 334-677-4894.
